GBWC 2013
An interesting experience.... my entry into Malaysia's Gundam Builders World Cup won two prizes. Best Creative and Modifications and New challenger Award. Not expecting anything when submitting the entry. But was pleasantly surprised.
The thing i learnt about Gundam modellers is their attention to detail and their perseverance is something that miniature hobbying needs. While gamers will say "but we're playing a game." I believe that that is not the spirit of the hobby the hobby should be about the love of building and fielding a fully painted army in all its glory.
This is where the problem lies "THE GAME". After spending month painting an army you get ur ass handed to you on the table (I've experienced it) and it hurts. All your effort and love and patience gone in the roll of the dice. It is in my opinion that the love for the painting part the hobby is lacking here. Everyone just wants to whoop ass. Which is fine it is a game after all. You should want to win. But respect your opponent put up a painted army. Not some pieces of plastic or resin or white metal on an upturned base.
Well I know thing won't change. I believe we're in the twilight years of the hobby. The "ME" Generation is just not into taking time to create something unique.
Anyway that's all for my rant. :P
